PAGASA: Typhoon Ruby Update (December 4, 2014)

State Weather agency, PAGASA said that 9 areas were placed under Storm Signal No. 1 as Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit) is spotted 860 kilometers East of Surigao City.

In a PAGASA advisory, the typhoon was estimated at 860 km east of Surigao City as of 10 a.m., packing maximum winds of 195 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 230 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 20 kph.

On Friday (December 5) morning, PAGASA expected that Ruby will be at 395 km east-southeast of Borongan, Eastern Samar.
