July 29, 2014 declared as a Regular Holiday

Philippine president, Benigno Aquino III was declare a regular holiday on July 29, 2014 due to the celebration of the Eid'l Fitr(Feast of Ramadan).

In the new Proclamation No. 826 with pursuant to Republic Act. No. 9177, the 29th day in the month of July is now regular holiday to "promote cultural understanding and integration" and so that "the entire Filipino nation should have the full opportunity to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in the observance and celebration of Eid'l Fitr".

The President Executive Secretary, Paquito N. Ochoa Jr., signed the new law last July 10, 2014.
