Bagyong Mario Update September 19, 2014

Bagyong Mario or also known as Tropical Storm Fun-Wong made landfall over the Northern tip of Cagayan Province on Friday September 19, 2014, PAGASA said.

In PAGASA 10 AM weather bulletin, the Tropical Storm spoted at 64 km north-northeast of Tuguegarao City, moving west-northwest at 22 kph. It has maximum winds of 85 kilometer per hour near the center and gustiness of 100 kph.

Cagayan including Calayan, Babuyan and Batanes Islands, Isabela, Kalinga, Apayao, Mountain Province, Abra, Ilocos Norte are under Storm Signal Number 2.

Storm Signal Number 1 raised in Aurora, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, Benguet, Ilocos Sur and La Union.

PAGASA said that the combined effect of Southwest Monsoon and TS “MARIO” will bring moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

The public and the DRRMC concerned are advised to MONITOR the weather condition and watch for the next advisory to be issued at 3PM and 5PM today, PAGASA added.
