A hoax text message killed a sixty four year old woman while she was evacuating from a tsunami threat in a coastal town in Quezon.

A fake text message warning people for a looming ''tsunami'' from Tayabas Bay has sent residents of Candelaria, Quezon into panic Tuesday, July 22.

Julieta Pañoso, died while she was evacuating from the supposed tsunami.

According to ABS-CBN news, Pañaso fall from a tricycle and hit her head that cause her ghastly death. The tricycle also filled with eight other people.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of Quezon clarified that there was no tsunami warning as there was no prior earthquake.

Quezon governor David Suarez said on an interview(ABS_CBN Umagang Kay Ganda) that the circulating  SMS message about the supposed tsunami in Candelaria was a hoax.
